Captive

Captive - K.M. Fawcett I read historical, paranormal, some contemporary, but all are romance. I do not read anything remotely science fiction…until now! I started reading this book with great trepidation, but with a somewhat open mind. It contained aliens, spaceships, gladiators, abduction, and because it did have some romance too, I thought I could muddle through. I picked up this book and believe it or not, I couldn’t put it down!

It began in a forest fire in California with Addy Dawson desperately trying to get a bunch of young campers out of harms way. As they raced down the road to get away, she saw a large, hunched man running into the forest. She stopped and tried to find him, and as she was looking, those she had rescued, took off with her truck and she was trapped. She eventually jumps in a raging river to avoid the fire and just before she loses consciousness, a hand reached out to her. The next thing she knew she was naked, warm and cuddling with an equally naked, warm, gorgeous man in a room with no doors or windows. This guy named Max was calm and set on seducing her, and he told her that’s what she was there for. They were on Hyborea, she had been “abducted” for breeding to Alpha Gladiators - which is what he was. The only thing on Addy’s mind was escape and the only place to escape to was a place far south where the refugee’s gathered, which she found was nearly impossible to reach.
