Never a Mistress, No Longer a Maid (Kellington, #1) - Maureen Driscoll Set in England during early1800’s, this book is the 1st in the Kellington Series. Their late parents named the children after 4 Kings of England and 1 Queen. William, Duke of Lynwood, known to family as Liam, Edward, Arthur, Henry, known to all as Hal and the youngest was Elizabeth or Lizzie.

We start with Lord Edward, known to all as Ned. He awakes with a splitting headache on a battlefield at the Battle of Waterloo, but it wasn’t from drinking too much… it was from an injury. Ned, a spy, was surprised by a deserter from Napoleon’s army. Ned won the skirmish, but was injured badly. Jane Wetherby, a healer treating allied troops, was dressed in men’s clothing and heading back to safety when she was trapped and attacked by a couple of French men - only to be rescued by Lord Ned Kellington. Then she rescued him. Giving him a false name of Iris Johnston, Jane removed a bullet from his thigh, sewed him up… then later they had a night of passion.
