In Susan Mallery’s latest, Three Little Words, we finally get to see the elusive Hendrix brother who left Fool's Gold and never looked back find love.

Isabel Bebee’s 14 year old heart is broken when her sister ended her engagement with Ford Hendrix for his best friend. Ford decided to join the Navy two days after his fiance dumped him and Isabel writes him promising to love him forever. Isabel continues to write diary like letters to Ford until she turns 24 about the ups and downs of her adolescent/young adulthood life with no response from him. She has returned to Fool’s Gold from NYC at 28 after her ex-husband leaves her for another man. She is back in Fool’s Gold to get her family’s bridal shop ready to sell and polish off her business plan to start a fashion boutique in NYC with a friend. Isabel is embarrassed when she learns Ford has moved back to town and has rented the apartment above her parent’s garage.
