Red Hill

Red Hill - Jamie McGuire Jamie McGuire’s Red Hill is her newest work of survival and love in a post zombie apocalyptic world. I will admit to being a huge Jamie McGuire fan and this was one work I was highly anticipating, however I am not sure this lived up to my expectations in the realm of angst and romance.

When an unknown “virus” begins infecting people in the United States, this deadly “outbreak” creates chaos among the masses as people affected become flesh eating zombies starving for any sustenance, young or old. Red Hill is a culmination of multiple characters stories as they journey to safety, ultimately ending at one location together fighting to trust, believe and live in a world of horror and unknowns. The primary players in this read are Scarlet, a single mother already battling life as she raises her two daughters; Nathan a hardworking man whose idea of the American dream is not coming home to the unloving internet surfing wife whose attention to him and their daughter Zoe is minimal; and the college crew of sisters Miranda and Ashley with their boyfriends Bryce and Cooper just looking for a weekend escape after finals.
