The Window Seat on a Rainy Day

It seems I have learned to love more than Highlanders lately. Vikings, well, Vikings with a heart under all of their gruffness and he-man-ness, have turned out to be one of my favorite “men” to read about! They did invade northern Scotland quite a lot, so I guess it isn’t that big of a stretch!

Styr Hardrata, his close friend Ragnar, a handful of his men and his wife Elena have left the comfort of their homes in the Norse Lands. Styr was hoping to make a new start with Elena while on the voyage; their marriage had started as more of a friendship but as the years progressed and no children came, even that had deteriorated. He thought a new start in a new land might please the gods so their group traveled far to find a better place to settle.
